If you are new…

A man walked into a bank in New York City one day and asked for the Loan Officer.
He told the Loan Officer that he was going to the Philippines on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000. The Loan Officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan.

Then the man handed over the keys to a new Ferrari parked on the street in front of the bank. He produced the title and everything checked out The Loan Officer agreed to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank’s president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the guy for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral against a $5,000 loan.

An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank’s underground garage and parked it there. Two weeks later, the guy returned, repaid the $5,000, and the interest, which came to $15.41.

The Loan Officer said, “Sir, we are very happy to have had and this transaction and it has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multi-millionaire. What puzzles us is: why would you bother to borrow “$5,000″.

The Millionaire replied: “Where else in New York City can I park my car for $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return?”

Well thats how the Rich stay rich; they know a lot more about Money Management. All the Millionaires I have met in my life were penny-wise. Look after your Cents and the Dollars will look after themselves.

Amen.

Project 365: Day 50

Day 50 already, I can’t believe it! Both of us have failed the last week or so pretty badly. I hope to get back into the routine again.

Today I went to 1000 Islands again for a nice walk. I was out for about an hour and a half. There weren’t as many waterfowl as the previous visits, however there were a lot more kinds of other birds. The weather today was FANTASTIC. As I post, it is 75 degrees, about 25 degrees above normal. Just a gorgeous day. I’m glad I got out of the house and took some photos. My subject is a familiar one. I’m actually starting to really like taking photos of geese, even if they aren’t the most interesting of subjects.

I hope to get a shot of something tomorrow. I’ve got work all afternoon and evening though.

Hello everyone, the last two days at school were so hectic, I wasn’t in the mood for photography by the time I got home. I’ve pretty much decided that I’m not going to take photos just for the sake of the project. It isn’t enjoyable nor is it helping me learn anything. My best shots are when I am enjoying myself and when I’ve got some time to enjoy photography.

Today I did manage to get an OK shot of a goldfinch on the feeder in the back yard. It is quite grainy because of the higher ISO I had to use because it was still mid morning. I would like to keep practicing with these kinds of shots because every day I see more and more birds coming to the feeders.

Early season goldfinch

I don’t plan on missing the next several days. The weather is going to be phenomenal but I will be stuck in school and work. Alas, I will do my best to get some shots.

On the way home from work tonight I decided I wanted to get a shot of the moon. It isn’t overly sharp, but it didn’t have any CA at all. For being a quarter million miles away, I don’t think it is too shabby.

Tonight’s shot totally didn’t turn out how I wanted it to. I was messing with the channels in Photoshop and I unclicked the blue channel and it turned out to be green and yellow like this. I think it looks better than the original colors.

Early Tulip

I can’t wait until I can start shooting outside again. This inside stuff isn’t helping me at all. Maybe I need to think of other ways to use my macro lens. I’m just not hitting the macro shots as well as I was before.

Sorry I missed yesterday. I was bogged down with school and decided against taking a photo just for the sake of taking a photo. I never learn anything when I do that anyways. Tonight’s shot is macro mystery number 3.

Macro Mystery 3

I enjoy the macro mystery series because it makes me look at/for things I would never think of shooting. Sometimes the shots aren’t very good technically and/or composition wise, but they do get me thinking more about possible subjects. They also show you details you always miss in daily life.

Does anyone have an idea what it is?

Here’s another visitor to my backyard.

Spring is definitely here!

Howdy folks! Virginia Beach, at the top of what we call “The Strip.” A major renovation on a hotel. The colors are like nothing we have on the beach. Pretty cool to see some originality brought back to the ocean front..

Another shot from 1000 Islands in Kaukauna. This time it’s a male Mallard.

Male Mallard Duck

I got out of class early this afternoon so I decided to go check out 1000 Islands and Fritse Park. At Fritse I saw a beaver swim out into the lake. Not quite something I see every time I’m out. I thought it was cool.
